Northwestern High School/MS West Salem vs Rittman High School
3 1
1 -   1
2 3   -

The contest with Northwestern was strong and physical from the start. But our boys kept their cool and played through it all.
The good old three-line shooting drill produced our first goal when Aiden Loverink sent it to the corner where Logan St Clair delivered a beautiful cross in the goal mouth. Eli Vale had the finishing touch to put the Indians up 1-0, which is how it remained at the half.
Both teams played strong in the second half and both were able to generate some solid opportunities. But the Huskeys found the net three times to go away with the hard fought victory.
The stats heavily favored Northwestern with them leading shots 17-7 and corner kicks 12-2. Husky keeper, Kyle Boreman had 6 saves while Kyle Scheibe was extremely skillful in the goal making 12 (sometimes amazing) saves.
Northwestern has the early WCAL lead with four points (2 wins), while the good guys still await their first victory in this young campaign.
Up next for Rittman is a Tuesday evening appointment in Apple Creek with the Golden Bears of Waynedale, 7:00 p.m.
